About Jiji
Jiji’s Crochet Shop is a small Missouri studio devoted to handmade amigurumi and the occasional blanket that takes over the bed.
I’ve been crocheting for five years. What started as a pile of yarn and a stubborn first sphere became a house full of animals — foxes, frogs, bees, dragons, a duck who owns a raincoat. I like pieces with a face. I like when they look like they might answer if you asked them something.
Most of the gallery is amigurumi, worked in cotton or chenille, stuffed so they sit or stand on their own. There are also home pieces: a star baby blanket, a sloth that hangs from a rod and holds a glass. Seasonal things turn up when the calendar suggests them — blossom bunny ornaments in spring, a gnome with a skull hat in October.
Everything is made to order. If you see a friend in the gallery, I can make you one in those colors or in yours. Custom characters — a pet, a favorite animal that isn’t up yet, a baby gift — are welcome. Send a note; I’ll write back with timing and yarn.
